Yes. At the same carat weight an oval has a longer outline and a larger face-up area than a round brilliant, so it covers more of the finger. The difference is visible from about 0.5 carat upwards.

The price of an oval lab grown diamond ring depends on the carat weight of the centre stone, the gold purity (14kt or 18kt) and how much gold the setting uses. A plain solitaire band costs less than a halo or three-stone design at the same carat weight. Neither is better; they do different things. A round brilliant returns the most light and is the traditional choice. An oval has a similar facet pattern but looks larger at the same carat weight, makes the finger look longer, and usually costs less per carat than a round. Choose round for maximum sparkle, and oval for more visible size.

Because an oval looks larger face-up than a round diamond of the same weight, many buyers choose a slightly lower carat weight than they would in a round and put the difference into the setting. This collection runs from designs under 1 carat to centre stones of 4 carat. For slim fingers a longer ratio near 1.50 adds presence without adding carat weight.

It is a darker band across the centre of the stone where light leaks through the pavilion. A faint bow-tie is normal in every oval. A heavy one that stays dark from every angle is a cutting fault, and it is not shown on the certificate, so check the product video or view the ring in a showroom.

Yes. An oval has no pointed corners, so there is no vulnerable tip to chip, and lab grown diamonds have the same hardness as mined diamonds. For a ring worn every day, 14kt gold is harder and more scratch-resistant than 18kt.
