Cushion Cut Diamond Rings

A round brilliant returns the most white light. A cushion cut returns more coloured fire, has a softer vintage look and usually costs less per carat than a round of the same grade. Choose round for maximum brightness and cushion for character.

Both are square, but a cushion has rounded corners and a soft outline, while a princess cut has four sharp corners and a crisp, geometric look. The rounded corners make a cushion less prone to chipping.
